Emulsion breaking is an important and complex process in oilfield chemistry. Stable emulsions encountered in oil production are normally composed of varying levels of water or brine dispersed in a continuous oil phase, stabilised by compounds occurring naturally in the crude. Stable emulsions can also be produced by specific operations in the refining processes.
To facilitate the economical removal of water from crude oil, DSA Chemicals offers a range of demulsifiers of varying chemistries, including resin alkoxylates and modified polyols.
When formulated, these products have been shown to successfully treat a wide range of emulsions under demanding field conditions (including short residence times, high turbulence, high solid loadings, low temperature and high water content).
